Former CM Basavaraj Bommai Slams Congress Government for Fuel Price Hike

 -

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai has accused the ruling Congress government of "betraying" the people of the state by increasing petrol and diesel prices. He alleged that the government has "ruined" the state's economy by implementing "unscientific guarantee schemes" and is now "pocketing" the common man's money by raising fuel prices.

In a statement, Bommai said that the state government is "cutting into the pockets of ordinary people" to run the state. "We had reduced the price of diesel by Rs 7. They have increased it by Rs 4. It is clear that the state government's treasury is empty," he added.

Bommai further stated that the hike in electricity and motor vehicle taxes has already put a burden on the common man. "Increasing petrol and diesel prices without announcing it in the budget is a betrayal of the people. We strongly condemn this. The government should immediately withdraw the order," he demanded.
