One 97 Communications Limited (OCL), the parent company of Paytm, has formed strategic alliances with prominent global travel aggregators such as Skyscanner, Google Flights, and Wego, significantly boosting its travel segment.
“We are dedicated to broadening our travel services and improving the overall customer journey. These collaborations with international travel platforms and major airlines, along with the adoption of artificial intelligence, reflect our commitment to offering seamless, convenient, and competitive travel solutions,” stated a Paytm representative.
“As we continue to innovate and expand, our goal is to provide exceptional value and an outstanding travel experience for our customers.”
To enhance options for international travelers, Paytm Travel has added three new airlines to its roster: Cambodia Angkor Air, SalamAir, and FlyDubai.
In Q4’24, Paytm sustained its upward momentum in market share among Online Travel Aggregators (OTAs), with a remarkable year-on-year increase of approximately 19% in flight bookings, outpacing the industry’s average growth of around 3%.
This growth is highlighted by a 15% year-on-year surge in international ticket bookings in April, positioning Paytm Travel as a preferred choice for competitive pricing and seamless booking services. This underscores the trust and confidence that customers place in Paytm for their travel requirements, according to the spokesperson.
As the second-largest OTA for train bookings, Paytm is continuously improving the customer experience with features like guaranteed seat assistance and easy tatkal bookings, making train travel more convenient and accessible. Paytm has also seen an increasing preference among travelers, including those from smaller cities and towns, for their commuting needs.
A recent milestone for Paytm is the NDC (New Distribution Capability) integration with Amadeus, featuring Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways as the initial airlines on NDCx, along with the addition of Eva Airways.
This integration leverages AI-powered capabilities to enhance the booking experience, offering more personalized travel options and packages directly from the airlines, according to Paytm.
In addition to the new airline partnerships, Paytm Travel has also onboarded new bus operators, including Mettur, expanding its service offerings to provide more travel options for customers. The introduction of a Free Cancellation service has gained significant traction across trains and buses, followed by flights, giving customers greater flexibility and peace of mind.
Through these advancements, Paytm is transforming the travel industry by combining convenience, comprehensive solutions, and innovative features, driving growth and expansion in the travel market.
These efforts are in line with Paytm’s broader vision of utilizing advanced technology to enhance its business operations and customer satisfaction across its diverse range of services, as stated by the leading fintech company.
