Singapore has reclaimed its position as the world's most powerful passport, according to the latest Henley Passport Index. Holders of Singaporean passports now enjoy visa-free access to an unprecedented 195 global destinations, solidifying the city-state's top spot in the ranking.


Here are 10 key points from the updated passport power rankings:


1. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain share the second position, with their passports granting visa-free access to 192 destinations.


2. The third spot is occupied by a seven-nation group including Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden, offering visa-free entry to 191 destinations.


3. India's passport ranks 82nd, on par with Senegal and Tajikistan, allowing visa-free access to only 58 countries.


4. The Maldives outperforms both India and China, ranking 58th with visa-free access to 96 countries.


5. China secures the 59th position, with its citizens enjoying visa-free access to 85 nations.


6. The United States continues its decade-long decline, dropping to 8th place with visa-free access to 186 destinations.


7. The United Kingdom, which shared the top spot with the US in 2014, now ranks fourth.


8. Afghanistan retains its position as the world's weakest passport, offering visa-free access to merely 26 countries – the lowest score in the index's 19-year history.


9. The United Arab Emirates makes a remarkable entry into the top 10 for the first time, having added 152 destinations since 2006 and climbing 53 places to reach 9th position.


10. The Henley Passport Index, compiled by London-based immigration consultancy Henley & Partners, evaluates 199 passports based on their access to 227 travel destinations using data from the International Air Transport Association.
