Hubballi: Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar stated that eight people have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of Akash Mathapati.


Speaking to reporters, she said that Arjun Malagi, Sanju Koppada, Rahul Kamble, Vinayak Talikoti, Manoj, Chamak alias Mounesh, Mahesh, and Karthik Raj have been arrested.

Shekharayya, the father of the murdered Akash Mathapati, has accused his daughter-in-law's family of complicity in the murder. He has filed a complaint against twelve people, including his daughter-in-law's family members and friends, at the Old Hubballi police station. While eight people have already been arrested, the police are still searching for the remaining suspects, including Akash's wife Kavya, mother-in-law Sridevi, father-in-law Mohan, and brother-in-law Bharat Nayak.

According to preliminary information, Akash suffered a blow to the head. More accurate details will be available after the post-mortem examination and the extensive report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), the Police Commissioner added.
