Hubballi: A doctor in Hubballi fell victim to a cyber fraud and lost Rs 30.79 lakh. The doctor, identified as Dr. Darshan, clicked on a link about stock market investment while browsing Instagram. This link led him to scammers posing as representatives of a reputable share company.

The scammers, including a woman claiming to be from the company, convinced Dr. Darshan to enroll in an online business school to learn about stock trading. Feeling confident after the lessons, Dr. Darshan was persuaded to invest in the stock market. He invested his money in phases, totaling Rs 30,79,047.

Later, Dr. Darshan realized he had been cheated. He reported the incident to the Hubballi Cyber Crime Police, who have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
