This year, the UAE will experience its earliest summer solstice on June 20th at 20:51 UTC, marking the earliest occurrence globally since 1796.
The event will bring the UAE its longest day of the year, with daylight lasting 13 hours and 48 minutes. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, noted that during the solstice, the sun will be directly overhead at the Tropic of Cancer, causing minimal shadows at noon across southern UAE and shorter shadows throughout the Arabian Peninsula.
Daytime temperatures are forecasted between 41-43°C, with nighttime temperatures of 26-29°C and dry conditions. The first half of summer will maintain these conditions, while the latter half, from August 11 to September 23, will see increased humidity and the onset of moist Kos winds, likely triggering thunderstorms.
