New Delhi: Leaders from Mauritius, the Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal arrived in New Delhi on Sunday to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony. Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Seychelles' Vice President Ahmed Afif were among the early arrivals, greeted warmly upon their arrival.


Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan was welcomed by Secretary West Pavan Kapoor, highlighting the visit's aim to bolster bilateral friendship and cooperation. Similarly, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius received a warm welcome, underscoring the historically close ties and maritime partnership between India and Mauritius.


Maldivian President Mohammed Muizzu arrived to affirm the strong maritime partnership and neighborhood relations with India. Nepal's delegation, led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, included key officials and diplomats, emphasizing regional cooperation and diplomatic ties.


The ceremony, hosted as a platform for regional leaders, reflects India's commitment to strengthening ties across the Indian Ocean Region.
