Hassan: While former MP Prajwal Revanna is under arrest for allegedly sexually abusing several women, his brother, Legislative Council member Suraj Revanna, has now been arrested. Suraj was arrested in Hassan on charges of homosexuality and unnatural sexual abuse.
Prajwal Revanna was caught after more than twenty days on the
run. Now Suraj, seemingly walking into a trap, came to the police station to
give a statement and voluntarily fell into the police net.
Suraj Revanna arrived at the Hassan CEN police station at 7:30
PM to testify regarding a complaint filed against his close associate. The
Holenarasipura Rural Police Station officers subjected him to a lengthy
interrogation. Following this, the police officially arrested Suraj Revanna
this morning.
A JDS worker from Arkalgud had filed an FIR against Suraj
Revanna, accusing him of forcing unnatural sexual acts and committing assault.
Meanwhile, as soon as the victim filed the complaint, Suraj's associates filed
a counter-complaint against him. An FIR was registered at the Holenarasipura
Town Police Station based on a complaint by Suraj Revanna's associate
Shivakumar, alleging that the victim was harassing them for five crore rupees
with false accusations.
Suraj had come to the police station to testify in the five
crore rupee blackmail case. He had come to provide audio recordings, photos,
and other documents. Suraj Revanna, who came without expecting the possibility
of arrest, has now been arrested. The Holenarasipura Rural Police Station
officers have made the arrest.
A case has been registered against Suraj Revanna under IPC sections
377, 342, and 506, and there's a possibility that the trial may be transferred
to the People's Representatives Court in Bangalore. Given that Suraj is a
member of the Legislative Council, there's a likelihood that the case
proceedings might take place in the People's Representatives Court. The FIR
registered at Holenarasipura Rural Police Station is also likely to be
transferred. If the case is transferred, there's a possibility that he might be
taken to Bangalore. The police are consulting with legal experts regarding the
case transfer.
