In a tragic incident on Thursday, three passengers, including two women, lost their lives, and fifteen others were injured when a truck collided with a private bus, according to police reports.


The victims were identified as M. Selvi (55), M. Azhagu Sundari (34), and her four-year-old son Akshaya Bala. The accident occurred when a truck transporting minerals from Tenkasi to Kerala struck the left side of a bus traveling to Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar district from Tenkasi. The impact caused the bus to overturn in the middle of the road.


Police and local residents promptly responded, rescuing the injured passengers and transporting them to the government hospital in Tenkasi for treatment.


The Ilaththur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
