In a late-night operation, Hubballi police arrested a 25-year-old man for carrying a deadly weapon, highlighting the authorities' commitment to maintaining public safety in the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad.



At approximately 00:30 hours, a team led by Police Inspector Samivulla K. of the APMC Navnagar Police Station conducted a raid at the Amargol APMC Yard based on credible intelligence. The team intercepted a Tata Intra goods vehicle and discovered a two-foot-long sword during their search.

The accused, identified as Tippanna Shishanalli, a resident of Rayapur, Dharwad, was immediately taken into custody. He has since been remanded to judicial custody under the provisions of the Arms Act.

Following this incident, local authorities have issued a stern warning to the anti-social elements. A police spokesperson stated, "Strict legal action will be taken against individuals found roaming with deadly weapons in Hubballi-Dharwad. Such actions, intended to disturb public peace or create fear among citizens, will not be tolerated."

The successful operation has drawn praise from senior law enforcement officials, including the Police Commissioner, who commended the APMC Navnagar Police team for their swift and effective action.
