Hubballi: As announced by the Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner, a drive to prevent drug usage was launched on Sunday. On the first day, 20 suspicious drug users from each police station's jurisdiction were tested for consumption of drugs.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Mahaning Nandaganvi stated that they have details of previous drug peddlers and users. On Sunday, raids were conducted on individual houses, and approximately 20 suspicious active drug users from each police station's jurisdiction were brought to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), District Hospital in Dharwad, and Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences for drug consumption testing.
Following the tests, counseling sessions will be conducted for these individuals by psychiatrists at the RN Shetty Kalyan Mantap. Nandaganvi added that strict legal action would be initiated against those who test positive for drug use.
