Dharwad,- Despite the persistent rain that has been lashing the Dharwad district for the past week, causing severe inconvenience to residents, the actual rainfall in Hubballi taluk has not met expected levels, according to the local weather department.
Dr. RH Patil, Nodal officer of the GKMS Unit at the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Dharwad, stated that the wet spell is likely to continue for four more days. However, he noted a significant discrepancy between public perception and actual rainfall data.
"Although people feel there has been good rain this year, meteorological data shows that Hubballi rural and Hubballi city have actually witnessed deficit rainfall," Dr. Patil explained. The only exception was Hubballi rural, which saw excess rainfall of 8% in June.

Other taluks like Kundagol and Kalagatagi have seen above-average rainfall consistently across all periods.
As residents continue to grapple with the inconveniences caused by the ongoing wet spell, authorities advise staying updated with official weather reports and taking necessary precautions.
