Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has formally requested security from the Director General of Police of Himachal Pradesh following an alleged incident at Chandigarh Airport where she was reportedly slapped by a CISF constable. In a letter addressed to DGP Atul Verma on Saturday, Ranaut emphasized the need for security cover citing perceived threats against her safety. The DGP assured her that security measures would be implemented after assessing the situation.

Ranaut, known for her outspoken views, highlighted the incident on her social media platform, expressing concern over escalating militancy and heightened threat perceptions. This comes in the wake of a previous altercation during her election campaign in Kaza, Spiti district, where she faced disruptions while addressing a public meeting. A BJP office bearer subsequently filed an FIR against the Congress party regarding the incident.

The actress-turned-politician has been vocal on contentious issues such as the farm laws and has been met with opposition for her statements against farmers and Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in the past.
