Renowned industrialist and media mogul Ramoji Rao was laid to rest at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad early Sunday morning, accorded state honors by the Telangana government. The solemn funeral rites were attended by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, alongside three senior IAS officers nominated by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Rao, 87, passed away at Star Hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday, where he was undergoing treatment. In response to his demise, the Andhra Pradesh government declared state mourning on Sunday and Monday (June 9 and 10).
Leaders from across the country, including President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi, expressed condolences over Rao's passing, reflecting on his significant contributions to industry and media.
