Starmer also highlighted his desire to further deepen the strong and respectful ties between the two nations and lauded Modi's leadership on global challenges such as climate change and economic growth.

The discussion also covered the importance of the "living bridge" connecting the UK and India, and the 2030 roadmap for future collaboration. The leaders identified several key areas for enhanced cooperation, including defense and security, critical and emerging technology, and climate change.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated Starmer on his significant electoral victory and reiterated India's commitment to strengthening economic ties. Modi invited Starmer for an early visit to India during their phone call. Following the conversation, Modi posted on X, "Pleased to speak with @Keir_Starmer.
