HUBBALLI- In a significant law enforcement operation, the Hubballi-Dharwad City Police carried out an extensive area domination exercise in the Keshwapur Police Station jurisdiction late last night. The action came in response to mounting public complaints about disturbances in the area.
The operation, ordered by Police Commissioner Shashikumar, resulted in the apprehension of 65 individuals. Among those taken into custody were 20 known rowdy-sheeters and 45 people caught consuming alcohol in public spaces, including empty layouts and streets.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) stated, "We've booked 50 individuals under the Karnataka Police Act. This operation sends a clear message that public nuisance will not be tolerated in our city."
The police have issued stern warnings to the offenders and are currently reviewing their past and present activities. Authorities have also instructed the parents of younger troublemakers to provide proper guidance to their wards.
The operation involved a coordinated effort from various police divisions, including the DCP (Crime & Traffic), CCB, and all ACPs and Police Inspectors from the North Sub-Division.
A senior police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that such operations would continue regularly. "Our aim is to ensure the safety and peace of our law-abiding citizens," the official said.
