Hubballi: The Hubballi Police have successfully apprehended two inter-district burglars and recovered stolen property valued at ₹19.50 lakh. The arrest comes as a result of an intensive investigation into a house burglary case registered on June 20, 2024, in the Gokul Road Police Station jurisdiction.
The accused have been identified as Deepak alias Rohan (28) from Khanapur, Belagavi, and Shivanagayya alias Shivanagu (26) from Ron, Gadag. Their arrest has led to the solving of eight house burglary cases across multiple police jurisdictions including Gokul Road, Vidyanagar, Belagavi Marihal, Khanapur, and Belagavi Malamaruti.
ACP Shivaprakash Naik of the North Sub-division led the operation, with Police Inspector Praveen Neelammanavar of Gokul Road Police Station heading the investigating team.
The recovered items include:
- Gold ornaments weighing 244 grams
- Silver ornaments weighing 2500 grams
- One laptop
- One scooter
- Two watches
- One motorcycle used in the thefts
The accused have been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues. The Commissioner of Police commended the Gokul Road Police team for their swift action and successful resolution of the case.
