Hubballi: Criminal Investigation Department probing Neha Hiremath murder case has filed a chargesheet in the court on Tuesday, said sources.

Neha, a college student was brutally stabbed to death by an accused, identified as Fayaz Khondunaik, former classmate of the victim on the BVB College premises on April 18 evening in Hubballi.



The document, reportedly 483 pages long, details the investigation into the tragic killing of the 23-year-old daughter of a Congress Councillor from the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation.

The murder of the Neha has sent shockwaves across the country, and it evoked strong emotions and public condemned the brutal killing.

Niranjan Hiremath, the victim's father, addressed the media following the chargesheet submission. He acknowledged the filing but noted he had not yet received a copy for review. Hiremath expressed his intention to consult with his legal counsel once he obtains the document to determine the next steps.

Notably, Hiremath commended the police department and State Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara for their prompt action, meeting the 90-day deadline for chargesheet filing.
